Couples counselling

Couples counselling provides a structured, impartial space for both partners to slow things down and understand what is happening between you.

You may be stuck in repeated conflict, emotionally distant, unable to communicate well, struggling after a breach of trust, or facing a difficult decision about the future of the relationship.

At Meridian, the work focuses on understanding the patterns between you rather than deciding who is right.

What couples counselling can help with

  • Communication difficulties
  • Escalating or repeated arguments
  • Emotional disconnection
  • Trust issues and rupture
  • Unclear expectations
  • Future decisions about the relationship

Working with complexity, not just conflict

Many couples seek support after repeated arguments or communication breakdown. In some relationships, however, the difficulty is not simply conflict but deeper layers of misunderstanding, expectation, role imbalance, cultural pressure, family influence, or long-standing relational patterns.

Couples work at Meridian is designed to engage with these deeper dynamics, helping both partners understand not only what is happening, but why it continues.

Where sessions take place

Couples sessions require enough time, space and structure for both people to feel heard. Meridian therefore provides access to premium, neutral session environments designed to reduce distractions, maintain privacy and support calm, balanced conversation.

Sessions can take place in Canary Wharf, Soho, or online via Zoom Telehealth Pro. The online platform offers a stable and secure environment with features suited to longer and more involved conversations, making it a genuine premium option rather than a compromise.

What sessions look like

Sessions last 90 minutes, allowing enough time for both partners to be heard without the work feeling rushed. Ongoing sessions are usually weekly at the start.

Note: If there are immediate safety concerns, coercion, or fear within the relationship, couples counselling may not be the best starting point. This can be discussed sensitively before booking.
